Demons (Art)
I realized i didn’t really understand how the church explains demons or how they influence people, so i asked about it after work.
The father said most of the time it isn’t something dramatic like in the movies, it’s usually influence. thoughts that push a person toward fear, shame, anger, or discouragement. things that slowly pull someone away from discipline, prayer or God.
i asked how demons attach themselves to someone
he said the church usually talks about openings. habits that make a person easier to influence. isolation, anger, repeating the same thoughts without correcting them. he said that’s why routine, prayer, and obedience matter so much.
sometimes the thoughts really do feel like something pushing back, especially when i’m tired. it makes sense that it would get louder when someone is trying to do better.
so i guess that just means i need to work harder against it.
I wrote down the verses (in english) he mentioned so i would remember them.
“be sober minded; be watchful. your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” 1 peter 5:8
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” james 4:7
“put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.” ephesians 6:11
“He was a murderer from the beginning… and the father of lies.” John 8:44
